We understand that the motor assistance is cutting in and out intermittently. The most common causes are misalignment of the pedal sensor and magnet disc or a loose/damaged motor cable.
1. Check the pedal sensor and magnet disc
Please check that the sensor is correctly aligned with the magnet disc. When slowly pedalling forward, the sensor should flash every time a magnet passes through its target area. If some magnets are not being detected, please adjust the sensor position so that all magnets pass correctly through the detection area.
2. Check the motor cable
Please inspect the motor cable for cuts, fraying, exposed wires, or other damage. Also check both connectors and their pins, making sure they are clean, undamaged, correctly aligned, and firmly connected.
Please also make sure the cable is not loose, pinched, sharply bent, or excessively stretched, particularly where it enters the motor hub.
If possible, please send us a few clear photos of the sensor/magnet disc and the motor cable connections so we can check the installation.
3. Check the assistance level
Please make sure the pedal-assistance level on the display is set above 0. When the assistance level is set to 0, pedal assistance is disabled.
